MD-3
A walking day. The metro is cavernous, extensive and multi-tiered, spreading out below the city like so many rhizomes. We are staying in a homey little apartment in Miguel Hidalgo. The small, tenacious plants growing from a little ledge next to the roof stairs caught my eye - plants grow wherever they can. Opportunists. There is little soil here to speak of, just a small surface to weave into; for the rest, they simply manifest themselves, converting air and water into matter.
CDMX is a textured city of layers on layers. A visit to the Museo Nacional de Antropología hints at how deep the layers go here... a perplexing and mind-boggling history of human beings, equally tenacious in their layered weavings.
Simply mind-boggling.
As always, thanks for reading and indulging!
